WILLEMSTAD – The Raad van Advies van Curaçao is taking steps to become more visible to the public by launching an animated video explaining its constitutional role and how it operates within Curaçao’s system of government.
The animation was officially introduced on Wednesday through the Council’s newly updated website as part of a broader effort to make its work more accessible and understandable to the public.
According to the Council, there is still too little public understanding of its constitutional position and responsibilities within the island’s public administration.
The video, available in both Dutch and Papiamentu, explains in simple language how the Council advises both the government and Curaçao Parliament on legislation and governance matters.
Officials say the initiative is meant to improve transparency and strengthen civic awareness about how laws are reviewed before they are enacted.
The launch follows earlier efforts by the institution to improve public accessibility, including the introduction of a new website nearly three years ago where legal opinions and background information have been made publicly available.
