WILLEMSTAD – Consumer prices in Curaçao increased in June 2026 compared with the previous month, according to figures released by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). The Consumer Price Index (CPI) reached 107.0 in June, compared with 106.2 in May, representing a monthly increase of 0.8%.
The annual inflation rate stood at 1.5% in June 2026.
The increase in prices was mainly driven by three spending categories. Transportation and communication recorded the largest increase, rising by 3.2% compared with May. Housing costs increased by 0.7%, while prices for beverages and tobacco products rose by 0.3%.
The CBS reported that the remaining spending categories showed no significant price changes during the month of June.
The Consumer Price Index measures changes in the prices of goods and services purchased by households and is used to monitor developments in the cost of living on the island.
The monthly increase reflects short-term price movements, while inflation provides a longer-term picture of changes in purchasing power.
