WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao has completed a comprehensive study into the island’s tourism carrying capacity, a key step toward developing a long-term strategy for sustainable tourism growth.
According to the Temporary Work Organization (TWO) annual report, the study was finalized in 2025 and will serve as the foundation for an integrated vision for the future of the tourism sector.
The carrying capacity assessment examines how much tourism growth Curaçao can accommodate while balancing economic benefits with environmental protection, infrastructure capacity and quality of life for residents.
The study forms part of broader economic reforms under the Landspakket, which seek to promote sustainable economic development while maintaining the island’s competitiveness as a tourism destination.
