Curaçao Calls for Donations as Venezuela Relief Effort Shifts From Rescue to Recovery

Local, Venezuela, | By Correspondent July 3, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – The Government of Curaçao is encouraging residents and organizations to continue donating humanitarian supplies and financial assistance as relief efforts in earthquake-stricken Venezuela enter a new phase.

According to the government, international rescue teams remain active in Venezuela, but the emergency response is gradually shifting from search-and-rescue operations to longer-term humanitarian assistance.

Officials said the scale of the destruction means recovery efforts will continue for an extended period, and Curaçao intends to focus its contribution on supporting this next stage of relief.

Residents wishing to assist are encouraged to donate requested supplies through the collection points established at Sambil Curaçao.

Authorities emphasized that donors should consult the official lists of requested items and contribute only those products specifically requested by Venezuelan authorities to ensure aid meets the country's most urgent needs.

In addition to material donations, financial contributions can be made through the Red Cross by depositing funds into MCB account number 2004.

The government expressed its appreciation to the volunteers, community organizations and businesses that have already contributed to the humanitarian campaign, describing their support as an important demonstration of solidarity with Venezuela.

"Curaçao remains in solidarity with the Venezuelan community," the government said, once again extending its support and best wishes to those affected by the disaster.
