Curaçao Cabinet Responds to Social Media Reports About Alleged Missing Employee

Local, The Netherlands, | By Correspondent June 12, 2026

THE HAGUE – The Cabinet of the Minister Plenipotentiary of Curaçao in The Hague has issued a formal response to social media reports claiming that one of its employees, Jordan Pietersz, has gone missing.

In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas, Acting Minister Plenipotentiary Errold T. Bishop stated that the Cabinet has found no evidence of an official missing person report involving Pietersz and has not been contacted by family members, law enforcement authorities, or any other competent institution regarding his alleged disappearance.

According to Bishop, the Cabinet became aware of the reports circulating on social media and subsequently conducted an internal review to determine whether any official notifications or reports of a missing person had been filed with the relevant authorities within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

“Based on the information currently available, no such report exists,” Bishop wrote.

The letter further notes that Pietersz has not maintained contact with the Cabinet for an extended period. In addition, a review of personnel records reportedly revealed that during his employment he had previously been absent on several occasions for extended periods without providing prior notice or formally informing the Cabinet.

While the Cabinet stated that there is currently no indication of an official missing person case, Bishop emphasized that the matter will continue to be monitored with appropriate attention.

“Should new relevant facts or circumstances emerge, the Cabinet will act accordingly within the applicable legal framework and responsibilities,” he stated.

The letter was made public by Kas di Kòrsou following increased discussion on social media regarding the whereabouts of Pietersz.

No further details about the circumstances surrounding the reports were provided, and authorities have not announced any formal investigation into an alleged disappearance.

The statement from the Cabinet appears intended to clarify that, based on information currently available to the government, there is no official confirmation that Pietersz has been reported missing.
