WILLEMSTAD – Curaçaoan boxer Fabian Williams will represent the island at the Pan-American Elite Continental Boxing Championships, taking place from October 17 to 25, 2026, in Puebla, Mexico.
The prestigious international competition brings together boxers from 26 countries across North America, South America, Central America and the Caribbean, providing an opportunity for athletes to compete against some of the strongest opponents in the region.
Williams enters the tournament with international experience, having previously secured a bronze medal for Curaçao at the South American Games in Argentina. That achievement demonstrated his ability to compete at a high level and brought recognition to Curaçao's boxing program.
His participation in the Pan-American Championships represents another important opportunity to build on that success and strengthen Curaçao's presence in international amateur boxing.
Williams departed Curaçao on Monday, October 12, accompanied by his coach, Coregelino Djaoen, who will guide him throughout the competition in Mexico.
The tournament will provide Williams with an opportunity to test his skills against elite boxers from countries with established boxing traditions, including several of the strongest boxing nations in the Americas.
For Curaçao, participation in international championships is particularly important because it allows local athletes to gain experience, improve their competitive development and demonstrate their abilities on a larger stage.
The Curaçao Boxing Federation, CuraBox, is supporting Williams as he once again represents the island on the international stage.
Williams' previous bronze medal at the South American Games has already established him as one of Curaçao's internationally recognized boxing competitors. His appearance in Puebla offers another opportunity to pursue a podium finish while proudly carrying the Curaçaoan flag.
The championships are scheduled to conclude on October 25.
