Local, | By Correspondent September 8, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao government has announced an extensive schedule of road construction, maintenance and cleaning activities taking place across the island from September 7 through September 11, 2026.

According to the government, several projects are being carried out simultaneously as part of ongoing efforts to improve Curaçao’s road infrastructure.

Asphalt work will continue in Souax West during the week, although paving activities have temporarily stopped in some other areas.

Work involving the installation of sewer pipes followed by road paving is scheduled along Koraalspechtweg, Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard and Goetoeweg.

At Waaigat, crews will install benches and carry out painting work in the parking area.

Maintenance of roadside posts will take place in both Punda and Otrobanda, while sidewalk repairs and other improvement work will continue along Santa Rosaweg and Kaya W.F.G. Mensing.

Road cleaning operations are also scheduled for Weg naar Welgelegen and Kaya Abraham M. Chumaceiro Boulevard.

The government acknowledged that the large number of projects underway may require patience from motorists and residents, but said the work is part of the continued development and improvement of Curaçao’s infrastructure.

Drivers traveling through the affected areas are advised to take the ongoing work into account and exercise additional caution around construction crews and equipment.
