WILLEMSTAD – CURA DOET is calling on the community of Curaçao to participate in the 13th edition of the island-wide volunteer event, which will take place on May 15 and 16, 2026.
Organizers say only a few days remain before Curaçao once again transforms into what they describe as one large stage for volunteerism and community service.
Hundreds of social organizations across the island will open their doors during the two-day event, offering projects for anyone interested in making a positive contribution to the community.
According to the organizers, CURA DOET has demonstrated for thirteen consecutive years what can be achieved when people come together to support their neighborhoods and vulnerable groups.
Thousands of volunteers have participated over the years in projects aimed at improving schools, community centers, care facilities, and public spaces across the island.
This year’s edition includes a wide range of activities, such as renovating school playgrounds, painting community buildings, and organizing programs for elderly residents and vulnerable groups.
The organizers emphasized that for many organizations, these two days are essential for completing projects that otherwise might never be realized because of limited manpower or resources.
Participation is open to everyone and can be done individually or in groups together with friends, family members, coworkers, or organizations.
The initiative also focuses on strengthening social connections within the community.
According to the organizers, CURA DOET is not only about helping others but also about creating meaningful experiences and strengthening solidarity on the island.
Residents interested in participating can register and select projects through CURA DOET.
Additional information and registration assistance are available via curadoet@curacaocares.org or by calling 788-1954.
Organizers stressed that every volunteer counts and encouraged the entire community to take part in the island-wide effort.
