The meeting focused on the effects of global economic conditions on Curaçao’s market, particularly rising prices affecting households. Among the options discussed were the introduction of maximum price controls and the possibility of temporary subsidies aimed at supporting the most vulnerable groups in society.
According to the government, these measures are still under consideration and will be further discussed during the next Council of Ministers meeting.
Authorities indicated that a press conference will be held in the near future to provide more detailed information to the public about the proposed actions.
The discussions highlight growing concerns about affordability on the island, as Curaçao seeks to mitigate the impact of external economic pressures on its population.
