Cpost International to Increase Postal Rates by Nearly 6 Percent Starting December 1

Local, | By Correspondent October 22, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Sending letters, postcards, printed materials, and small parcels from Curaçao will become more expensive starting December 1, 2026, as postal operator Cpost International prepares to increase its regulated postal rates by approximately 5.6 percent.

The company announced that the adjustment will apply to both domestic and international postal services covered by its official postal concession. The increase falls within the limits permitted by the Regulatory Authority of Curaçao (RAC), which oversees regulated postal tariffs.

According to Cpost, the revised rates will affect several commonly used postal services, including the mailing of letters, postcards, printed documents, and small postal packages. Other services offered by the company that fall outside the regulated postal concession will not be affected by this particular adjustment.

The increase means that individuals and businesses relying on traditional postal services will face higher costs beginning in December.

For example, a postal service currently costing XCG 10 would increase to XCG 10.56 if the full 5.6 percent adjustment is applied directly. The actual cost will depend on the specific postal service and its applicable tariff.

Cpost has not included a detailed list of the revised prices in its announcement. Customers wishing to determine the exact cost of sending mail or parcels after December 1 are advised to consult the company's website or visit one of its post offices.

The adjustment is particularly relevant for businesses, organizations, and individuals who continue to depend on physical mail for correspondence, document delivery, and the shipment of small items.

Although electronic communication has reduced the need for traditional letters, postal services remain important for official correspondence, legal documents, commercial activities, and international deliveries.

The tariff increase comes under the regulatory framework governing Cpost's concession services, meaning that the company must operate within the pricing limits established by the RAC.

Cpost has not provided further details in the announcement about the specific operational costs or financial considerations behind the increase.

The new rates will take effect on December 1, giving customers several weeks to prepare for the adjustment and review the updated tariffs before sending their mail.
