WILLEMSTAD – The Council of Ministers of Curaçao has taken note of and approved several important decisions during its meeting of Wednesday, February 4, 2026, addressing matters related to governance and public administration.

One of the decisions concerned the 2026 meeting schedule of the Raad van Advies (Council of Advice). The Council of Ministers formally took note of the schedule, which outlines the advisory body’s planned meetings for the year. The Council of Advice plays a key role in reviewing draft legislation and providing guidance on matters of national importance before they are submitted for further legislative consideration.

In addition, the Council approved a budget amendment to facilitate the granting of a subsidy to Fundashon Alton Paas. The decision falls under the responsibility of the Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature. The subsidy is intended to support the foundation’s ongoing activities, although further details regarding the specific allocation were not disclosed.

The Council also agreed to a request for authorization by the Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature to rent the second floor of the APC building. The decision allows the ministry to expand or reorganize its operational capacity within the building. However, the Council emphasized that any future financial obligations related to the rental arrangement may only be entered into after obtaining prior approval from the Ministry of Finance, underscoring the importance of fiscal discipline and oversight.

The decisions reflect continued administrative coordination within government and ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional operations in key sectors, including public health and governance.
