Council of Ministers Approves Digitalization Plan and Financial Reports

WILLEMSTAD – The Council of Ministers has taken several key decisions during its meeting of Wednesday, February 11, 2026, addressing matters of governance and financial management.

Digitalization Directorate Plan Approved

The Council approved the guiding principles of the Organizational Plan for the Directorate of Information Management and Digitalization (DID) within the Ministry of Governance, Planning and Service Delivery.

The plan will now be submitted to the National Reform Commission for review. At the same time, preparations are being made for the next phase of implementation. These steps include the recruitment of a Director for the DID, who will also serve as Chief Information Officer (CIO), the establishment of a dedicated working group and the introduction of periodic progress reporting.

The Directorate is expected to play a central role in strengthening government digital infrastructure, improving information management and advancing public sector modernization.

Financial Reports Submitted

In addition, the Council approved the financial management report for December 2025, along with the implementation report covering the fourth quarter of 2025.

The reports will be submitted to the Governor and to Parliament. They will also be forwarded to the College financieel toezicht (Cft) for advisory review.

The decisions reflect ongoing efforts to improve transparency, oversight and structural reform within the public sector, particularly in areas of digital transformation and fiscal management.
