WILLEMSTAD – Corendon is prepared to operate an additional flight to Philadelphia for Curaçao supporters hoping to attend the national team's World Cup match against Ivory Coast on Thursday, but only if more stadium tickets become available.
The airline's three scheduled flights to Philadelphia over the coming days have already sold out, reflecting the enormous enthusiasm among Curaçao fans eager to support the Blue Wave at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Norman Serphos, speaking on behalf of Corendon, confirmed that demand for travel to the United States remains strong. However, the main obstacle is no longer transportation but access to the match itself.
According to the airline, there is still significant interest from supporters who want to attend the crucial Group E encounter between Curaçao and Ivory Coast. At present, however, no tickets are available for the match.
Corendon says it is willing to organize an additional flight as soon as the Curaçao Football Federation (FFK) and FIFA are able to secure more tickets for supporters. Until then, the airline is waiting before announcing any extra travel arrangements.
The interest comes after Curaçao's impressive 0-0 draw against Ecuador, a result that has boosted excitement across the island and increased hopes of seeing the national team advance further in the tournament.
Thursday's match against Ivory Coast could prove decisive for Curaçao's World Cup ambitions, making it one of the most anticipated sporting events in the island's history. As supporters continue searching for ways to be present in Philadelphia, attention is now focused on whether additional tickets can be obtained to allow more fans to make the journey.
