WILLEMSTAD – Corendon will begin offering specialized padel vacations to Curaçao at the end of November, combining flights and hotel accommodation with professional training sessions and matches on the courts of Padel X.
The first trip is scheduled to depart on November 29, 2026. The new travel package targets the rapidly growing number of padel players in the Netherlands who want to combine their sport with a Caribbean vacation.
Corendon is partnering with Padel Pirates to organize the sporting component of the trips. Participants will receive five padel training sessions under the guidance of professional coaches and will also have opportunities to play matches against other travelers.
The program is designed for players of different skill levels.
Corendon says the schedule will leave participants with sufficient free time to visit Curaçao’s beaches, explore the island and take part in other vacation activities.
Commercial Director Martin de Boer of Corendon described padel and Curaçao as “a great combination,” saying the concept allows travelers to remain active while still enjoying a traditional island vacation.
The initiative also adds another dimension to Curaçao’s growing sport tourism market by attracting visitors whose primary travel motivation includes participation in a specific sport rather than solely beaches, accommodation and sightseeing.
Padel has experienced significant growth in the Netherlands in recent years, creating a market for specialized trips built around the sport.
Padel Pirates already has five years of experience organizing padel trips to destinations including Spain, Turkey, Austria, Indonesia and the Netherlands. The company expects to handle nearly 1,500 travelers during 2026.
With Curaçao now being added to the program, the companies are seeking to combine that growing European padel market with the island’s established tourism industry.
