WILLEMSTAD – Fundashon Pa Konsumidó (FPK) has noted progress in the repair and maintenance of bus stops across Curaçao following inspections carried out at several locations on the island.
The consumer foundation previously conducted inspections of various bus stops after receiving concerns about their poor condition. After some time, FPK carried out a new review of several locations and observed that the Ministry of Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning (VVRP) has started maintenance and repair work on a number of bus stops.
According to FPK, these improvements contribute to safer and more dignified public infrastructure for all users of public transportation.
The foundation noted that some bus stops still require attention. In addition, several locations remain without benches, leaving passengers without a place to sit while waiting for a bus or public transport vehicle.
FPK expressed confidence that the repair work will continue until all bus stops requiring improvements have been addressed.
The organization emphasized that accessible, safe and functional bus stops are an important part of a reliable public transportation system and directly affect the daily experience of passengers across Curaçao.
