Colombian Ambassador Pays Courtesy Visit to Governor of Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD – The Ambassador of Colombia to the Netherlands, Carolina Olarte Báceres, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Curaçao on Monday, May 4, as part of an official working visit to the island.

Ambassador Olarte Báceres met with Governor Maurits de Kort during a formal introductory meeting. She was accompanied by her adviser, Karol de la Paz Quintero Rodríguez, and Colombia’s Consul in Willemstad, Pablo Rebelledo.

Also present during the meeting were the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Colombia, Reina Buijs, and Darryllin van der Veen, Director of Foreign Relations for Curaçao.

The Colombian delegation is in Curaçao on a working visit connected to VELAS 2026, an event that brings together naval and diplomatic representatives from various countries.

In addition to the event, discussions also focused on the upcoming commemoration of 200 years of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Colombia and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The meeting highlighted the longstanding ties between Colombia, Curaçao, and the wider Kingdom, as both countries prepare to mark two centuries of diplomatic cooperation.
