WILLEMSTAD – The official closing of Curaçao’s Seú (harvest festival) season has been postponed and will no longer take place on the originally scheduled date of Sunday, April 26.

That announcement was made by Fundashon JAG, the organization behind the event.

According to the foundation, the decision to postpone the season finale was made due to the absence of several key participants, including ambassadors and group leaders, who are currently abroad.

The Seú season, one of Curaçao’s most important cultural traditions, celebrates the island’s agricultural heritage through music, dance and traditional dress, honoring the harvest customs that have been passed down through generations.

The closing event marks the final gathering of the annual Seú activities and traditionally brings together participants, organizers and supporters to celebrate the success of the cultural season.

Fundashon JAG has now set a new date for the event.

The closing celebration will take place on Friday, May 8, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Ultimate Automobiles in Seru Dòmi.

The organization thanked the public for its understanding and invited the community to attend the rescheduled celebration.

Seú remains one of Curaçao’s most recognized cultural expressions and forms an important part of the island’s heritage calendar, drawing participation from schools, cultural groups and the wider community each year.
