WILLEMSTAD – CITRO Curaçao volunteer Geordan Richardson has successfully completed the specialized “SAR Craft Operations” training course at the Koninklijke Nederlandse Redding Maatschappij (KNRM) in the Netherlands.
According to CITRO Curaçao, the intensive training program focused on further developing knowledge and operational skills in the field of Search and Rescue (SAR).
During the course, participants received extensive instruction in boat handling, onboard safety procedures, search operations and rescue scenarios conducted under demanding conditions.
The training forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Curaçao’s emergency response and maritime rescue capabilities through international cooperation and professional development.
CITRO Curaçao stated that the successful completion of the program represents an important contribution to the organization’s operational readiness and the continued professionalization of volunteer rescue services on the island.
The KNRM, the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution, is internationally recognized for its expertise in maritime rescue operations and emergency response training.
