WILLEMSTAD – A minor was rushed to hospital on Friday afternoon after losing consciousness in a swimming pool incident near Papaya in the Westpunt area, according to the Korps Politie Curaçao.
Emergency services received the report at approximately 2:54 p.m. Upon arrival, responders found the child unconscious after having taken in water.
Paramedics from Blauwe Kruis Curaçao provided initial medical assistance at the scene. A second ambulance from Fundashon Kuido Ambulans later arrived to continue resuscitation efforts.
The child was subsequently transported in critical condition to the emergency department of the Curaçao Medical Center.
Authorities have not released further information regarding the condition of the victim.
