Alex Rosaria Appointed New Chairman

WILLEMSTAD - Effective June 1, 2026, Alex Rosaria has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Fundashon Kòrsou Transparente, succeeding Michael Hernandez, who played a pivotal role in the development and growth of the organization.

Kòrsou Transparente was established as a citizen-led initiative following a 2013 study by Transparency International (TI) that examined Curaçao's vulnerabilities to corruption. One of the foundation's primary objectives is to raise public awareness and encourage citizens to stand up for their right to an honest and accountable society. Integrity, transparency, and the fight against corruption remain at the core of the organization's mission.

Outgoing Chairman Michael Hernandez has made an invaluable contribution to the growth and professionalization of the foundation. Under his leadership, public awareness of the importance of transparency and good governance increased significantly. Hernandez will continue to support the organization as a member of Kòrsou Transparente's Advisory Council.

New Chairman Alex Rosaria said he is honored to take on the role and help guide the organization into its next phase.

Rosaria currently evaluates development projects across Asia and the Pacific region. He is also a fellow of the Caribbean Policy Consortium and participates in working groups of Global Americans. His career in both the public and international sectors includes service as a Member of Parliament, Minister of Economic and Labor Affairs, and State Secretary of Finance.

In addition, Rosaria has worked with several United Nations agencies, including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), UN-Habitat, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), with assignments in Africa and Central America.

Kòrsou Transparente will hold a strategic planning session in July to establish its multi-year agenda and priorities. The organization says it is pleased to have secured a leader with Rosaria's extensive expertise and international experience to assume the chairmanship and help advance its mission of promoting transparency, integrity, and accountability in Curaçao.
