WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) is continuing to tighten oversight of the island's online gaming sector, warning operators that compliance with its growing body of regulatory requirements is no longer optional.
In addition to recently introducing a comprehensive cryptocurrency policy for licensed operators, the regulator has reminded the industry that operators are responsible for ensuring all business partners and suppliers comply with Curaçao's new licensing and registration requirements under the National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK).
The CGA has also issued a public warning about EZZ.CASINO, stating that the website is falsely presenting itself as a licensed operator by displaying the authority's name, logo and Digital Authorization Seal without permission. According to the regulator, the website has not been authorized or licensed by the CGA.
The warning reflects the regulator's broader effort to protect consumers while safeguarding the credibility of Curaçao's gaming jurisdiction.
Since the introduction of the LOK framework, the CGA has steadily expanded its compliance requirements, including rules on responsible gaming, anti-money laundering, supplier registration, terms and conditions, dispute resolution and now cryptocurrency transactions. The reforms are designed to align Curaçao's gaming industry with international regulatory standards and strengthen confidence among players, investors and business partners.
Industry observers say the latest measures demonstrate the CGA's intention to move away from Curaçao's former reputation as a lightly regulated licensing jurisdiction toward a more transparent and closely supervised online gaming market.
