CBBC and ABVO Sign New Collective Labor Agreement Through 2029

| By Press release March 10, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao Beverage Bottling Company B.V. (CBBC) and the Algemene Bond van Overheid en Overig Personeel (ABVO) have signed a new collective labor agreement that will remain in effect through 2029.

The agreement marks the first time CBBC has negotiated a collective labor contract with ABVO. In the past, negotiations were conducted with the union BONECO, but ABVO recently took over representation of the company’s employees.

According to the parties involved, negotiations took place in a constructive and professional atmosphere, with both sides showing mutual respect for the interests of employees and the company.

During the discussions, particular attention was given to establishing a balanced and forward-looking compensation structure for employees. The agreement takes into account factors such as the rising cost of living and the continued growth of the company.

CBBC Managing Director Andrew Pinedo said employees remain one of the company’s most valuable assets. For that reason, investing in staff and ensuring sustainable labor conditions is seen as essential for the organization’s long-term development.

With the new agreement in place, CBBC and ABVO say they look forward to continuing their collaboration in a spirit of dialogue, stability, and shared progress.

In addition to investing in its workforce, the company plans to make significant investments this year to modernize its production processes. These upgrades are expected to support further growth, benefiting not only the company and its employees but also the wider economy of Curaçao.

For decades, CBBC has produced locally one of the world’s best-known non-alcoholic beverages and also supplies products to Bonaire. The company therefore plays an important role in the regional economy and employment.

Through continued investments in people, production, and innovation, CBBC says it aims to remain a strong and reliable partner for the Curaçao community and the wider region.
