WILLEMSTAD – The Ministry of Social Development, Labor and Welfare (SOAW), through its Family and Youth Sector, has launched an educational and preventive video campaign focused on the well-being of children, youth and adults during the Carnival season.

With this initiative, the ministry aims to raise awareness within the community about the importance of celebrating responsibly. The campaign highlights the shared responsibility of individuals and families to protect themselves and others, promoting safety, harmony and respect throughout the festivities.

According to SOAW, family well-being is a top priority. The ministry is therefore encouraging the public to actively contribute to creating a safe, healthy and sustainable environment for families and the wider community of Curaçao.

Prevention remains a cornerstone of social policy for the Ministry and its Family and Youth Sector. Through clear and accessible messaging, the campaign calls on residents to take responsibility and maintain control in situations that may arise during Carnival. The ministry stresses the importance of remaining alert to potential risks that could endanger personal safety, family welfare or the surrounding environment.

By acting in a preventive, responsible and attentive manner, the community can collectively ensure that Carnival remains a festive, respectful and inclusive celebration for all.

The video will be broadcast through various communication channels, including television and online platforms, to reach a broad audience. With this campaign, the Ministry of Social Development, Labor and Welfare reaffirms its commitment to strengthening social well-being through preventive and educational efforts.

The ministry is urging the public to share the message and work together toward building a strong, supportive and resilient society during Carnival and beyond.
