WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP) and Curaçao Airport Holding (CAH) proudly unveiled a meaningful community initiative today at the children's department of Curaçao Medical Center (CMC), reaffirming their commitment to creating lasting social impact beyond the airport. As part of their Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) strategy, the organizations officially launched a one-of-a-kind educational mural, including play equipment, and introduced Curaçao's very first "Infuuts", an innovative bicycle-based IV drip system designed specifically for children.
This initiative reflects a shared belief that every child deserves the opportunity to play, learn, and explore, even while receiving medical treatment. Through this project, CAP and CAH aim to create a more positive, engaging, and child-friendly hospital environment where young patients are seen not only as patients, but as children with the freedom to imagine, discover, and grow.

Interactive mural: a story that takes flight
At the heart of the project is "Pedro's Airport Adventure," an interactive mural that transforms the hospital walls of the Children’s department into a vibrant world of exploration. The artwork follows Pedro Prikichi, who, after searching across Curaçao for the mysterious panther, arrives at the airport to continue his adventure.
Together with his friends, Kachi Kabritu and Tora Turtuga, Pedro guides children through every stage of the airport journey, from check-in and security screening to boarding an aircraft. Along the way, they meet new animal friends while introducing young patients to the fascinating world of aviation.
More than just a colorful mural, Pedro's Airport Adventure encourages children to actively participate through "I Spy" challenges, riddles, trivia, and fun aviation facts. By combining storytelling with interactive learning, the mural stimulates curiosity, observation, and problem-solving skills, transforming the hospital environment into a place of discovery, imagination, and hope.
The mural was designed and brought to life by OZD (Omar Zimmerman Design), together with Micheal Dalnoot and Kaile Finies of Pelikula Studios International. The realization of this initiative, along with the procurement of additional equipment and play materials from abroad, represents more than a year of planning, collaboration, and dedication by everyone involved.
Introducing Curaçao's first "Infuuts"
Another highlight of the project is the donation of Curaçao's very first "Infuuts." Unlike a traditional IV pole, the Infuuts is a specially designed bicycle that allows children receiving intravenous treatment to remain mobile while connected to their IV.
By giving young patients the freedom to move independently, interact with others, and continue playing, the Infuuts helps reduce the feeling of being confined to a hospital bed. It encourages physical activity, social interaction, and a greater sense of independence during treatment, contributing to a more positive hospital experience.
Play equipment
In addition to the mural and the Infuuts, CAP and CAH also donated various play equipment and furniture to further enrich the children's department and create an environment where healing is supported through play and creativity.
The official unveiling was attended by representatives of Curaçao Medical Center (CMC), members of the press, volunteers from Curaçao International Airport (CUR), CAP CEO Mr. Ricardo Hernández, CAH Managing Director Mr. Wilhelmus Ignacio and Chief Strategy Officer Mrs. Priscilla Duin-Circkens, Minister Charles Cooper, representing Minister Boekhoudt of the Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature, Mrs. Loraine Diaoen, CFO of Curaçao Medical Center (CMC), and Ms. Claudia Rigaud, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Curaçao.
For CAP and CAH, this project represents far more than a corporate social responsibility initiative. It reflects their shared commitment to investing in the wellbeing of Curaçao's children, strengthening community partnerships, and creating positive, lasting impact beyond the airport.
