WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao saw a significant increase in Canadian visitors in March 2026, with arrivals rising by 40 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the Curaçao Tourist Board.

A total of 8,400 Canadian tourists visited the island during the month, highlighting the growing importance of the North American market. On average, Canadian visitors stayed 7.8 nights, aligning with the overall visitor trend.

More than half of Canadian travelers—57 percent—chose resort hotels, reflecting a strong preference for traditional vacation accommodations.

Tourism officials view the growth as a positive sign of diversification in Curaçao’s visitor base, helping to balance fluctuations in other markets and strengthen the island’s overall tourism performance.

The Curaçao Tourist Board indicated it will continue to monitor market trends to ensure sustainable growth that benefits local businesses while maintaining quality of life for residents.
