WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Council of Ministers has approved amended draft statutes for the foundation responsible for the material and operational management of POLITUR Curaçao.
The decision concerns Stichting Materieel en Operationeel Beheer POLITUR Curaçao and was taken during the Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday, September 23.
According to the government, the amended statutes were prepared in accordance with advice from Stichting Bureau Toezicht en Normering Overheidsentiteiten (SBTNO), Curaçao’s corporate governance advisory and supervisory body for government entities.
The Council of Ministers agreed to formally establish the amended draft statutes in accordance with that advice.
POLITUR is associated with policing and security in areas important to Curaçao's tourism sector. The Cabinet decision specifically concerns the statutes of the foundation responsible for its material and operational management.
The government announcement did not disclose which provisions in the statutes are being changed or explain what prompted the amendments.
The matter was submitted to the Council of Ministers through the Ministry of Economic Development.
