WILLEMSTAD – Burglars broke into the Kooyman hardware store in Zeelandia by gaining access to the building through an opening intended for an air conditioning installation. The incident follows a similar burglary at Building Depot last week, raising questions about whether the two crimes may be connected.
According to available information, the perpetrators entered the Kooyman premises through an opening associated with the building's air conditioning system, a method almost identical to the one used during the recent break-in at Building Depot.
Police are investigating both incidents and examining whether the similarities in the methods used indicate that the same individuals may be responsible.
Authorities have not yet disclosed what was stolen from Kooyman or the extent of the damage caused during the burglary.
It also remains unclear whether the perpetrators targeted specific merchandise or other valuables inside the store.
The similarities between the two incidents are particularly noteworthy because both businesses operate in the hardware and building materials sector.
However, police have not confirmed any direct connection between the burglaries, and there is currently no evidence publicly establishing that the same suspects were involved.
The investigation is ongoing, and further information about the stolen property, possible suspects, and the circumstances surrounding the break-ins has not yet been released.
