WILLEMSTAD – Betèsda has taken an important step in the digitalization of its healthcare services with the implementation of Ysis, a digital system designed to register and manage patient care information.
Minister of Health, Environment and Nature Tyron Boekhoudt visited Betèsda on September 22 to mark the organization’s transition toward a more fully digital care environment.
Betèsda’s treatment professionals were already using Ysis. The organization is now expanding the system to its nursing and care staff, replacing paper-based records with digital registration.
The transition means that information related to both treatment and daily care can now be brought together within a single system, giving healthcare professionals more efficient access to relevant information about their clients.
Boekhoudt welcomed the development, describing it as another contribution to the modernization of healthcare in Curaçao.
According to the minister, digitalization can help healthcare professionals work more efficiently, improve access to relevant information and ultimately allow employees to devote more time to providing direct care.
“Modernizing our healthcare also means investing in systems that support our professionals so they can dedicate more time to what really matters: the person who needs care,” Boekhoudt said.
The minister congratulated Betèsda’s management and employees for their commitment to innovation and the continuous improvement of care.
The implementation represents a significant operational change for Betèsda as nursing and care employees move away from paper records and join treatment professionals in working through the same digital platform.
