WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Fire Department has announced that the Barber Fire Station will temporarily relocate to Fontein starting Tuesday, July 21, to allow for the renovation of its current facility.
The temporary station will be located in Fontein, next to House No. 30, while renovation work is carried out on the Barber fire station building. The project is expected to take approximately 10 months to complete.
According to the Fire Department, the temporary relocation will ensure the uninterrupted delivery of emergency services throughout the Banda Abou region. The move is being coordinated by Fire Department personnel with support from several departments within the organization.
The Fire Department expressed its appreciation to its employees for their cooperation and flexibility in ensuring a smooth transition to the temporary location.
A special word of thanks was also extended to the various organizations that assisted with the relocation process, particularly the Public Works Department (UOOW). The department helped prepare the facilities in Fontein, making it possible for the Fire Department's emergency vehicles to maneuver safely and remain fully accessible at all times.
The Curaçao Fire Department emphasized that its services will remain available to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week, throughout the renovation period. Residents of Banda Abou can expect emergency response services to continue without interruption.
