Banco di Caribe Appointed as New House Bank of the Government of Curaçao

| By Press release March 5, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Banco di Caribe N.V. will become the new house bank of the Government of Curaçao starting April 1, 2026.

The government relies on a house bank to handle its daily banking operations, including the centralized management of government funds, the processing of incoming and outgoing payments, and the efficient management of financial flows for ministries and related government institutions.

The government’s house bank is selected through a public tender process for a fixed period of at least five years. The Ministry of Finance recently completed such a tender procedure, after which Banco di Caribe was chosen as the new banking partner for the government.

With this appointment, a strategic banking relationship will be established between Banco di Caribe and the Ministry of Finance. The bank will work closely with the ministry to ensure the careful and reliable execution of the government’s daily payment processes and the operational management of public liquidity.

According to the government, the partnership is also expected to contribute to greater financial inclusion by expanding access to modern banking services and digital payment options for broader segments of society.

The new arrangement will take effect on April 1, 2026. In the lead-up to that date, the Government of Curaçao and Banco di Caribe will communicate any changes and potential implications for citizens, businesses and other stakeholders in a timely manner.
