WILLEMSTAD – The Project Team for Supervision and Enforcement (PTH), in cooperation with the Otrobanda neighborhood police, carried out inspections on Monday, March 16 at Helmin Wiels Boulevard and Weg naar Westpunt.
During the controls, authorities focused on the transport of construction debris and materials on public roads without proper covering. A total of 12 fines were issued as a result of the operation.

According to public order regulations (offense M7, Article 30, paragraph 1b of the National Ordinance on Public Order), it is prohibited to transport materials such as construction debris, demolition waste, sand, soil, clay, manure, wood products, garden waste, loose grass, gravel or mud on public roads in a way that allows them to fall or be blown off the vehicle.
This means that such materials must be transported in a manner that prevents spillage, for example by properly covering the load.
PTH emphasized that these inspections are important to ensure road safety and to prevent pollution and nuisance on public roads.
Authorities are urging all drivers to make sure their cargo is securely covered before entering public roads. The inspections are expected to continue.
