WILLEMSTAD – Authorities in Curaçao are rolling out a broad operation to ensure safety, hygiene, and public order during the busy Siman Santu (Holy Week) period, as large crowds are expected across the island.

Several ministries and government services are working together to intensify monitoring and support at beaches, roads, and popular tourist areas.

The measures include increased cleaning efforts, the presence of medical teams at crowded beaches, and a strengthened police presence with additional patrols and traffic controls. Authorities are also enforcing food safety regulations and general compliance with public rules.

According to officials, the coordinated approach is aimed at ensuring that both residents and visitors can enjoy the holiday period in a safe and orderly environment.

Beachgoers are being urged to keep their surroundings clean and to use public facilities responsibly, while also cooperating with emergency services when needed.
