WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao’s Project Team for Supervision and Enforcement (PTH) has removed a total of 45 propaganda posters that were illegally attached to utility poles in several neighborhoods across the island.
According to PTH, the recent enforcement operation targeted unauthorized posters placed without the required permits in areas including Saliña, Punda, Dominguito, Caracasbaai, Bottelier, Marie Pampoen, and Bapor Kibra.

The agency emphasized that placing propaganda posters without official authorization remains illegal under Curaçao’s 2016 propaganda sign policy as well as Articles 15 and 16 of the National Ordinance on Public Order.
PTH stated that it continues to actively monitor and enforce regulations against illegal advertising and unauthorized public signage throughout Curaçao.
Authorities are urging individuals, businesses, and organizations to comply with the island’s existing rules regarding propaganda and promotional posters.
Illegal posters attached to public infrastructure such as light poles have long been a recurring issue on Curaçao, particularly during political campaigns, public events, and commercial promotions. Officials argue that unauthorized signage not only creates visual pollution but can also pose safety and maintenance concerns in public spaces.
PTH said enforcement activities against illegal postings and other unauthorized public activities will continue across the island.
