WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao’s Team Toezicht & Handhaving carried out a series of inspections in the Punda district on May 22 as part of ongoing efforts to enforce regulations and maintain order in Willemstad’s historic city center.
According to the Ministry of Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning (VVRP), the operation focused on compliance with various permits and existing regulations affecting businesses operating in the area.

During the inspections, authorities checked whether establishments with terrace permits were complying with the specific conditions and requirements attached to those permits.
Inspectors also examined businesses displaying mannequins outside their establishments to determine whether the displays remained within permitted boundaries. Snack bars and food establishments placing tables and benches outside their premises were likewise inspected for compliance with applicable regulations.

In addition, officials reviewed signs and other objects placed outside businesses without authorization or the required permits.
A total of 22 inspections were carried out during the operation.
According to VVRP, the ministry remains committed to maintaining order, safety and an organized environment in Curaçao’s city center.
