BUENOS AIRES – Argentine President Javier Milei has once again reaffirmed his government's support for democracy in Venezuela, urging the immediate release of all political prisoners and calling for the restoration of democratic institutions and fundamental freedoms.

In a new statement, Milei stressed the importance of respecting civil liberties and ensuring that individuals detained for political reasons are freed. He also reiterated the need for Venezuela to restore democratic order and uphold the rule of law.

The Argentine president has consistently been one of the region's strongest critics of the Venezuelan government, maintaining that democratic principles and human rights must be respected. Since taking office, Milei has aligned Argentina with countries advocating for democratic reforms and greater international pressure on Caracas.

His latest remarks come as international concern continues over the situation in Venezuela, where opposition leaders and human rights organizations have repeatedly denounced the detention of political opponents and restrictions on civil and political freedoms.

Argentina has maintained a firm stance in support of democracy and human rights in Venezuela, with Milei's administration continuing to advocate for the protection of fundamental liberties and the release of those imprisoned for political reasons.

Milei said lasting stability in Venezuela will require respect for democratic institutions, free political participation and the restoration of constitutional guarantees for all Venezuelans.
