Angela Los Sworn In as Judge of the Joint Court of Justice

WILLEMSTAD – Angela Los was officially sworn in on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, as a member of the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and the Caribbean Netherlands islands of Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba.

The oath of office was administered by Acting Governor of Curaçao, Ruthmilda Jansen, during an official ceremony attended by President of the Joint Court of Justice Sigmar Carmelia, fellow judges, court officials, and invited guests.

With her appointment, Los joins the highest judicial body serving the Dutch Caribbean countries and special municipalities. The Joint Court of Justice plays a central role in the administration of justice throughout the region, handling appeals and other judicial matters across its jurisdictions.

The swearing-in ceremony marked the formal start of Los’ duties as a judge of the Court, reinforcing the institution’s ongoing commitment to maintaining an independent and effective judiciary within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
