WILLEMSTAD – All police recruits from the BPO-2025-I training class successfully completed their traffic enforcement competency examination on October 6, 2026, marking an important milestone in the final phase of their professional training.
The practical examination assessed the recruits' ability to carry out essential traffic enforcement duties, including stopping vehicles, communicating professionally with drivers, preparing official police reports and determining whether motorists and their vehicles meet the legal requirements to continue participating in traffic.

During the assessment, recruits were required to demonstrate their understanding of traffic regulations and their ability to apply appropriate enforcement procedures in practical situations.
An important component of the examination involved evaluating whether a driver could safely and legally continue driving or whether circumstances required officers to take measures to remove a vehicle from traffic.
The assessment also focused on communication skills, ensuring that future officers can interact appropriately with motorists while carrying out their responsibilities.
According to the training announcement, every recruit successfully passed the examination, demonstrating the knowledge and practical skills acquired throughout the training program.
The successful results mean the recruits have completed this important component of their preparation for traffic enforcement duties.

The training emphasizes the importance of combining legal knowledge with practical judgment, professional communication and the ability to make decisions that contribute to road safety.
With the examination completed, the recruits are now prepared to begin applying their training in traffic enforcement, helping ensure that motorists comply with Curaçao's traffic laws and regulations.
The achievement represents another step in preparing a new generation of police officers to contribute to public safety and traffic enforcement across the island.
