WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao government has approved the implementation of a national “Psychosociale Schoolveiligheidsplan” (Psychosocial School Safety Plan) for all schools on the island.
The action plan aims to strengthen psychosocial safety within educational institutions and provide schools with a structured approach to address challenges affecting students and school communities.
The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (ESKD) will be responsible for the implementation, coordination and administrative management of the project.
The ministry will work together with the National Reform Commission Curaçao (NHC), the Tijdelijke Werkorganisatie (TWO) and other implementation partners involved in the project.
The minister will also submit the action plan to the Dutch State Secretary for Kingdom Relations and to TWO for processing within the framework of the Curaçao Country Package (Landspakket Curaçao).
The initiative forms part of broader education reforms under the Landspakket, which aims to strengthen public institutions and improve services in Curaçao.
The government considers school safety and student well-being essential components of a stronger and more resilient education system.
