Under the agreement, SVB has committed to providing a financial guarantee for the project and will also advance 2 million guilders to SGR Group to initiate construction. The project will ultimately be financed by RBC Bank.

The “Na Kas” project, originally initiated by former minister J. Silvania, is now being carried forward under Minister Boekhoudt. It focuses on the reconstruction of housing units on Aron Street in the Abrahamz neighborhood.

The development will consist of five homes designed to accommodate 24 clients with mental disabilities, as well as six additional clients diagnosed with severe autism combined with other conditions.

Officials involved in the project emphasized that the initiative reflects a broader commitment to improving the quality of care on the island through collaboration between government, financial institutions, and care providers.

Among those present at the signing were representatives from SVB, SGR Group, and RBC Bank, including AVBZ manager F. van Lamoen, RBC relationship manager O. dos Santos, SGR director C. Emerenciana, deputy director L. Cijntje-Gout, and SVB director F. Simon.

The project is expected to contribute to more adequate and supportive housing solutions for vulnerable groups, marking a step forward in strengthening Curaçao’s healthcare and social support infrastructure.
