WILLEMSTAD – Aeroturpial has issued a statement following an operational situation involving Flight 079 from Curaçao on Tuesday, saying the aircraft landed normally and safely at Josefa Camejo International Airport in Las Piedras, Venezuela.
According to the airline, the aircraft’s captain made a precautionary decision during the flight to activate the appropriate safety protocols in strict accordance with established operational procedures.
Aeroturpial did not specify the nature of the situation that prompted the captain’s decision.
The airline said the safety and well-being of passengers and crew remained the priority throughout the operation.
Upon arrival at Josefa Camejo International Airport, the situation was handled in a timely and coordinated manner with the involvement of the relevant authorities and agencies, following established procedures for such circumstances.
Despite the precautionary measures, Aeroturpial stressed that Flight 079 completed its planned route and made a normal and safe landing.
There were no adverse consequences for passengers, crew members or the aircraft, according to the company.
Aircraft Undergoing Technical Inspection
Following the completion of the flight, Aeroturpial’s aeronautical engineers and specialized technical personnel immediately began the necessary inspections and checks on the aircraft.
The plane will remain out of service while those inspections are conducted.
Aeroturpial said the aircraft will only return to operation once it has been certified as fully complying with all required airworthiness and safety conditions.
The airline emphasized that operational safety remains its highest priority and said its flight crews and technical teams are trained to respond to unexpected situations while adhering to established aviation regulations and standards.
Aeroturpial thanked passengers for their trust, understanding and calm response during the situation. It also expressed appreciation to the authorities and agencies involved in handling the incident.
