WILLEMSTAD – Autobusbedrijf Curaçao (ABC) has officially launched its new Route 7A between Noord Zapateer and Koraal Partier, fulfilling a public transportation request that residents of Noord Zapateer have pursued for more than 25 years.
The new route was inaugurated Thursday in the presence of Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning Minister Charles Cooper, ABC Director Ray Seferina, neighborhood commission member Angelique Presentacion, invited guests and local residents.

According to ABC, Route 7A responds to a longstanding request from the Noord Zapateer community for improved access to the island's public transportation network.
Seferina said ABC will continue examining developments and transportation needs in other neighborhoods as the company considers opportunities to improve its network.
Cooper said the government is working toward investments in more modern buses as part of a broader effort to bring public transportation deeper into Curaçao's neighborhoods.
The objective, according to the minister, is to improve connections not only between neighborhoods but also between residents, employment, businesses and other essential destinations.
Route 7A, connecting Noord Zapateer with Koraal Partier, is being presented as a first step in that direction.
ABC said residents can expect further efforts to improve connectivity as Curaçao's public transportation system develops in response to changing needs across the island.
