WILLEMSTAD – A 39-year-old man has died after being involved in a serious single-vehicle traffic accident early Saturday morning on Kaya Grote Berg.
The Curaçao Police Force (KPC) reported that its emergency dispatch center received a call about the crash at approximately 6:15 a.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle that had collided with the pillar of a garden fence. The driver had sustained critical injuries and was transported by ambulance to the emergency department of the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC).
According to the preliminary police investigation, the driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve for reasons that have not yet been determined, causing the car to crash into the concrete pillar.
Despite receiving emergency medical treatment, the victim later succumbed to his injuries.
Police identified the deceased as Roderick Randee Windster, 39, who was born in the Netherlands.
Traffic investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash. The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation.
