2BAYS Secures Nuisance Permit for Bullen Bay Operations

Local, | By Correspondent October 2, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – 2BAYS has officially obtained the nuisance permit required for its operations at Bullen Bay, providing the company with a formal environmental framework for activities at one of Curaçao’s most important industrial and maritime locations.

According to 2BAYS, the permit was officially received on August 21, 2026, and represents an important milestone for the company.

The nuisance permit establishes the environmental requirements and conditions under which activities at the Bullen Bay terminal may continue. It also provides greater regulatory certainty for the continued operation and future development of the site.

2BAYS said obtaining the permit reflects its efforts to conduct activities responsibly and transparently while complying with Curaçao’s applicable regulations.

Bullen Bay has increasingly been positioned for new industrial, maritime and energy-related activities. The site offers deep water, a sheltered location and existing infrastructure capable of accommodating large-scale maritime operations.

The company recently highlighted the use of double banking, or ship-to-ship operations, at Bullen Bay, while a long-term agreement has also been signed with CurAqua B.V. for the development of a commercial land-based fish farm at the site.

With the Bullen Bay permit now secured, 2BAYS said its next objective is to obtain a nuisance permit for its operations at Emmastad.

The company said it will continue working with the relevant authorities and stakeholders to ensure its activities at both locations are conducted safely and responsibly.
