WILLEMSTAD – A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in the Rancho district on suspicion of attempted murder, illegal weapon possession, and violations of drug laws, according to the Public Prosecution Service Curaçao.
The arrest took place late Friday night around 11:30 p.m. during a judicial operation carried out by a detective team investigating recent violent incidents on the island.
The suspect, identified by the initials T.H.G.T.S. and born in Curaçao, was apprehended at the scene during the raid.
Authorities confirmed that the arrest was carried out under orders from the Public Prosecution Service. The teenager has since been brought before an assistant prosecutor, who ordered his continued detention pending further investigation.
Officials have not released additional details about the case as the investigation remains ongoing.
