WILLEMSTAD - In response to the shortage of workers in the hospitality sector, Curaçao is welcoming hundreds of Turkish seasonal workers. At least one hotel has obtained approval to hire foreign hospitality staff. This significant initiative will involve a minimum of 250 seasonal workers who will be employed at the upcoming Corendon hotel, The Rif. The hotel is scheduled to open its doors in mid-December.
With a scarcity of local personnel, the decision was made to recruit staff from Turkey to meet the demand. Corendon, a Turkish-Dutch holding company, originally established as a travel agency specializing in trips to Turkey and has since expanded into a renowned tour operator.
The recruitment of Turkish workers aims to address the pressing staffing needs within the hospitality industry on the island. By bringing in these seasonal workers, the Corendon hotel and other establishments can ensure the smooth operation and delivery of quality services to visitors.
As Curaçao continues to attract tourists, the availability of trained and skilled personnel is essential to maintaining a high standard of hospitality. The arrival of Turkish seasonal workers is expected to provide vital support in meeting the demands of the thriving tourism industry.
