TUI expects 80 percent of the normal number of flights this summer

HANOVER - CEO Fritz Joussen expects TUI to operate about 80 percent of the normal number of flights this summer. He thinks that most travel restrictions will then be lifted, because the vulnerable population will have been vaccinated.

It will be a "mostly normal summer".

According to Joussen, many people have a burning desire to finally go on vacation again, he says in an interview with the Rheinische Post. There are also many vouchers to be redeemed that were issued last year because of canceled trips.

TUI has airlines in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom and Scandinavia, with more than a hundred aircraft. They offer flights to Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao, among others.

The company also has sixteen cruise ships. According to Joussen, they will all be put back into use this year.
