Ticket prices extremely expensive during high season

SCHIPHOL, WILLEMSTAD - KLM and TUI airline tickets increase enormously around the Christmas period. KLM has been able to increase its capacity.

Last year, despite the corona pandemic, prices also rose very much around this period. The airlines indicate that this has to do with supply and demand. “There is more demand for an airplane seat on the especially Christmas-desired Amsterdam-Curaçao route than can be offered,” said Rick van der Pluijm, TUI manager.

Local KLM manager Dirk Buitenlaar indicates that travelers should book their ticket as early as possible. A ticket currently costs almost 4,000 guilders. Travelers who want to travel business class with KLM quickly pay 9,710 guilders for the return flight alone.

Some flights are already fully booked. This is the case at both TUI and KLM.
