WILLEMSTAD - From now on, the Netherlands is no longer a code red country for Curacao. Due to the declining number of corona infections, the Netherlands has been given code orange.
The Netherlands is therefore now 'just high risk' instead of 'very high risk'. The main difference is that fully vaccinated residents of Curacao only have to do a PCR or antigen test before leaving the Netherlands. After arrival they no longer have to do an antigen test on day three. Holidaymakers or unvaccinated residents still have to take the antigen test.
435 people had themselves vaccinated last weekend. That is considerably more than in the past few weeks for a weekend. People have also less opportunities to vaccinate; now only on Wednesdays and Saturdays. According to doctor Iralice Jansen, the increased interest is due to the new wave of contamination in recent weeks.
