WILLEMSTAD - After a period of several months of preparation, airline EZ Air started selling flights to Medellín in Colombia on Thursday.
According to director René Winkel, there had been a demand for the flights for a long time, but the company did not yet have the right equipment. Two larger Saab aircraft were therefore purchased, with which more people can be transported. “These aircraft also have cabin crew on board so that we can also provide snacks and drinks along the way. Not unimportant on a somewhat longer flight,” says Winkel.
Christmas vacation
Although the flights will only start on December 3, passengers can already book for them. With the start of the flights, the airline is responding to people who want to spend the Christmas holidays in Colombia. Many Colombians have traditionally lived on the islands. In the first phase, EZ Air will operate two flights a week to Medellin. In addition, there are also twice weekly flights to the port city of Barranquilla.
