WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA), in collaboration with the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB), officially welcomed the cruise ship Allura during its maiden call to the island on Thursday, 20 November 2025. The ceremony, held at Megapier Ernest Jackie Voges, marks another milestone as Curaçao continues to cement its reputation as a premier cruise destination in the southern Caribbean.

As part of the official program, a traditional plaquette exchange took place between the ship’s captain and representatives of the Government of Curaçao, CPA, CTB, local agent Maduro Shipping and Customs officials.
Minister of Traffic, Transportation and Spatial Planning, Charles Cooper, addressed attendees and highlighted the significance of the visit.
“This maiden call demonstrates the continued confidence cruise lines have in Curaçao,” Cooper said. “Every new arrival contributes to our economy, creates opportunities for our community and strengthens Curaçao’s status as a world-class destination. We warmly welcome the Allura and look forward to many future visits.”

Both CPA and CTB emphasized the importance of strong partnerships with international cruise companies, noting ongoing efforts to enhance the visitor experience, optimize port operations and support the growth of Curaçao’s cruise sector.
Passengers and crew aboard Allura were given the opportunity to explore Curaçao’s vibrant downtown, beaches, cultural attractions and local experiences during their stay.
The arrival of Allura underscores the island’s expanding role in the regional cruise tourism market and reinforces longstanding cooperation between Curaçao’s port authorities and global cruise operators.
